Acne Treatment

Product Used - CLARIFY Serum: Clears acne, normalizes oil, shrinks pores, increases skin’s immune support, remodels scarring, hydrates, calms inflammation, protects skin from UV rays, restores epidermal barrier, and restores dermal thickness.

The best way to reduce oil and/or bacterial overgrowth is to target oil glands with ingredients that do not traumatize the skin. Over-exfoliation can cause inflammation and dehydrate the skin resulting in more oil production. Inflammation stimulates oil production, so artificial ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide work against your skin and ultimately can result in rebound acne.

Additionally, acne sufferers already have scar-proned skin because of all the inflammation, so overly aggressive treatments will worsen their scarring.

Osmosis’ formula uses purified and highly active oil and bacteria reducers along with calming aryuvedic herbs to provide rapid results that are actually good for the skin. Acneic skin is constantly attempting to repair itself as most blemishes leave residual scar tissue. The combination of treating acne while repairing acne scars just makes sense. Steroids, Benzoyl Peroxide, antibiotics and most lasers slow remodeling (by depleting antioxidants and/or nutrients from blood supply) thus worsening the potential for scars because they interfere with the natural remodeling process.

Osmosis’ unique formula stimulates capillary flow (blood supply), thus feeding the skin its essential nutrients while stimulating fibroblasts for remodeling with Retinaldehyde-liposome. In fact, all of the active ingredients are liposome-coated to penetrate into the skin and through the sebum more effectively. Liposomes have also been shown to reduce oil production and acne by as much as 70% in one month and that is without any other active ingredients being present!

While Retin A and other retinols can be used for acne, Retinaldehyde-liposome is the ideal choice for the following reasons. It is readily absorbed by the skin and follicle, which does not occur with any other retinol, it does not over-stimulate like Retin A, which results in redness and irritation, and it is approximately 500 times stronger than Retinol and equally as strong as Retin A without irritation.

Aging/Normal Skin

Products Used - Correct and Renew Serums: Restores dermal thickness, remodels scarring from photodamage, increases skin’s nutrient and immune support, protects skin from UV rays, restores the epidermal barrier, hydrates, normalizes oil, clears acne, reduces fine lines, and shrinks pore size.

aging skin Everyone has had some level of sun damage over their lifetime and skin health restoration is critical for the prevention of aging both in younger individuals as well as more damaged skin types. To accomplish this, two things must be stimulated; fibroblast activity and blood flow to the skin.

Fibroblasts create collagen, elastin, and GAG’s which are all critical to repairing skin density and the overall look and quality of the skin. In addition, the skin’s activity, repair capabilities and appearance are totally dependent on nutrients, antioxidants and immune support from its blood supply. The more blood supply, the better the health of the skin in every category. The unique ingredients in this serum work better on these issues than any other ingredients on the market.

Retinaldehyde-liposome, as an example, is the most active retinol available without prescription. While prescription Retin A can be as effective, it is over-irritating to the skin which adds to the workload and makes it less than optimal. Retinaldehyde-lipsome, on the other hand, is extremely active in generating blood flow and stimulating fibroblasts without the irritation because it penetrates.

Many "anti-aging" products contain peptides. Since our research shows they only plump the skin and have no effect on collagen and elastin, we do not really consider these treatment ingredients. However, we use Argirilene in addition to our 6 collagen stimulators because a little plumping is also nice. We believe that 6 fibroblast stimulators (makers of collagen, elastin, GAG’s) are better than one as we are trying to stimulate collagen in every way possible. Osmosis likes to think of it as "saturating" the skin with remodelers.

Hyperpigmentation

Product Used - Enlighten Serum dramatically lightens the skin, has nine liposome-coated tyrosinase inhibitors, remodels scar tissue, restores barrier health, calms inflammation, remodels scarring from photodamage, restores dermal thickness, hydrates, and protects against UV rays.

The skincare world is filled with products for this condition that simply do not work. Usually this is due to one of three factors. 1. the companies use one or two active ingredients at percentages that just do not get it done; 2. the companies use ingredients that test well in labs, but in the skin, have much less effect (like Kojic Acid); or 3. the companies’ ingredients are inflammatory resulting in a rebound effect that negates any lightening effects.

It is quite common for treatments of skin discoloration to have traumatizing ingredients. Logically, knowing that trauma (aka inflammation) is a leading cause of pigmentation, it makes no sense to use ingredients like Hydroquinone that stimulate pigment

(through inflammation) while attempting to lighten it. Ingredients like Arbutin show promise initially, but quickly oxidize in a solution making them much less effective. Additionally, because the skin wants to produce pigment to protect itself, it has shown a great ability to work around the effects of many lighteners (aka tyrosinase inhibitors). Osmosis has developed an exclusive formula that utilizes 12 of the most advanced, natural lightening agents, all of which resist the skin’s efforts to make pigment. By using multiple lightening agents, Osmosis’ Enlighten serum reduces the skin’s ability to work around the tyrosinase inhibitors because each lightener uses a slightly different method on the melanocyte and they all work together with great synergy.

The results are phenomenal. It quickly evens skin tone and fades hyperpigmentation while promoting skin health restoration. Rosacea/Sensitive Skin Serum

Products Used - Mend and Calm Serums: Dramatically lightens the skin, has nine liposome-coated tyrosinase inhibitors, remodels scar tissue, restores barrier health, calms inflammation, remodels scarring from photodamage, restores dermal thickness, hydrates, and protects against UV rays.

Most people think of Rosacea and Sensitive skin as conditions that require non-active products because of their tendency to over react. The important distinction is that these skin types need non-irritating, active ingredients to remodel their damaged skin in a way that promotes healing.

Both Rosacea and Sensitive skin are the result of inflammation and it is therefore critical to use ingredients that remodel, repair and calm so that skin health is restored. The capillaries (and redness) that are often seen reflect two coexisting conditions; the skin is attempting to repair itself by increasing blood supply to certain areas, and, over time, the skin thins from the excessive inflammation which results in more capillaries being revealed.

Mend and Calm are designed to increase the density of the skin (which covers capillaries) while calming the inflammation and encouraging repair in a non-irritating fashion. The liposomes vastly improve penetration while restoring the health of the skin barrier. An intact barrier is a critical component of the restoration process of Rosacea. In addition, research shows that liposomes reduce excess oil production, improve the health of the skin barrier and assist in wound healing.
